There are moments when you realize that a digital drawing or a distant character design simply isn’t enough anymore. Anyone following the stories of Kiana, Richard, Fian, and Celeste knows there is far more to these figures than just pixels and colors. Naturally, I eventually asked myself: Is it possible to take that feeling—that very specific soul of a character—out of the world of pixels and colors and bring it into the three-dimensional world?
Ultimately, I put forward Fian—a lute-playing hybrid of wolf and fox—and sought out a professional creative studio. The goal was clear:
Blending old and new: Carrying on a legacy.
Functionality: The ability to actually play the lute.
Aesthetics: Avoiding an over-the-top design in favor of understated, simple elegance.
The result, finalized in October 2025, was “Fian”:
Who is Fian?
Fian is a design intended to come across as “mature” without going overboard or appearing “old.” The stories surrounding him and his friend Celeste show that he is no longer young, yet not quite old either—it lies in the eye of the beholder. I submitted a design that offered a solid foundation for inspiration while also being technically feasible to realize.
And yes, in October 2026 – my Fur Suit will be finished, and instead waiting, I used all this time for tons of creative work.
The “Vibe”—What defines Fian?
That’s me in 2023… (I know a little older, but …)
That is much harder to explain, because Fian isn’t just a spontaneous creation; he carries a significant legacy. He is the illustrated incarnation of a very old character I brought to life in the mid-90s for Live Action Role-Playing (LARP)—a character who eventually migrated into the medieval reenactment scene around 2003: the bard Friedebert, alias “Master Blutstrøm”—part-time hero and would-be world-improver. Many LARP characters come and go, but Friedebert proved remarkably resilient in the face of the usual trials and tribulations. Whether he was seeking out undead foes with a foam sword in hand or getting caught up in hair-raising escapades, he always managed to find a way out. He spent decades as an adventurer and later became a welcome guest at medieval market campfires, thanks to his musical instruments.
A little fun fact: Master Blutstrøm was actually spotted again last year. If you look closely, you’ll notice certain similarities to Fian the Bard:

Fian carries on this legacy, though with one crucial difference: he isn’t meant to simply continue Friedebert’s story, but rather to appear as a “chronicler” in the three-dimensional world. It is important to me that he captures that same vibe and feels authentic, while still maintaining a distinct identity of his own. Quite a challenge…
BTW: FIAN IS NOT TAKEN FROM FIANNA …
FIAN is not derived from the FIANNA.
I hear that quite often, and I must admit: yes, I really like the idea—especially since the theme of the “Middle Ages” has been part of my own inner identity for many years.
But no, I would find that very presumptuous. So, here is a brief breakdown:
“the Bard” – the origin of that is, I think, quite understandable; but “FIAN”? That is an abbreviation standing for:
